Don Ritter - Candidate for Governor-Elect

With the encouragement and support of the Bowling Green Kiwanis Club and K-T Division 14, I wish to announce my candidacy for Kentucky-Tennessee District Governor-Elect for 2010-2011.

I am a 38-year Legion of Honor Kiwanian with 20 years of perfect attendance, I have sponsored 27 members, and I have been the recipient of a number of club honors and awards.  I have served on the board of directors, have been president of my club, and I have attended several District and International conventions often as a delegate.  For 10 years I served as club secretary-treasurer and bulletin editor.

As Division 14 lieutenant governor in 2005-2006, I led the club building team effort that was responsible for chartering a Kiwanis club in Franklin,Kentucky.   I am a Hixson Fellow, Osborn Fellow and will soon be a Shafer Fellow. I am asking for the support of my fellow Kiwanians in this endeavor; and if elected, I look forward to the honor of serving as your governor in 2011-2012.

2010 All-American
Soap Box Derby Race

We will host the thirteenth annual running of the BB&T All-American Soap Box Derby on May 21 and 22, 2009. Stock and Super stock classes will be held at the Kiwanis Soap Box Derby Track located at Phil Moore Park. This child-centered, family- and community-oriented event was both fun and inspirational.  New skills were learned and new friendships forged during the construction of the cars.  The bonding experience between parent, grandparent, guardian or friend created memories for a lifetime.  If you would like to see the joy of Soap Box Racing, please check out our Photo Galleries:
